Smart Gardens for the Future

When an opportunity arose to show Queenslanders how to create beautiful gardens using less water, the Australian Centre for Lifestyle Horticulture (ACLH) jumped at the chance.  With the help of funding through the Department of Natural Resources and Water and the expertise of the lifestyle horticulture industry we created the Smart Gardening - Start Gardening campaign.  

Underpinning this campaign is the SMART mnemonic which helps to understand the principles of a water efficient garden and addresses the key messages for the campaign.

S = Soil
M = Mulch
A = Alternative Water
R = Range of Suitable Plants	.
T = Transformation into an efficient waterwise garden
