The management group for the Australian Centre for Lifestyle Horticulture is comprised of representatives from each of the member associations below.

The Flower Association of Queensland Inc (FAQI) was formed in 1988 and commenced its role as peak industry organization for the Queensland cut flower industry in 1998.  The membership includes cut flower growers, grower groups and allied traders (these include supply companies, florists, wholesalers and exporters. FAQI have been foundation members of ACLH.

The FAQI representative is Denyse Corner who joined the ACLH management committee in 2009.  Denyse is the Industry Development Officer for the Flower Association of Queensland Inc and brings to ACLH a strong history of industry development, including 12 years with DPI&F (now DEEDI).  Denyse believes ACLH is in a unique position to champion members’ needs and provide services which aim to lead the Lifestyle Horticulture industry towards greater success.

Irrigation Australia Limited is Australia’s national body covering the entire value chain of the urban and rural irrigation industry in Australia.  The association is the national voice for the irrigation industry and irrigation practices in Australia for urban and rural irrigators; local government; statutory bodies and tertiary institutions; water utilities and irrigation companies; irrigation consultants and designers; irrigation contractors and installers; manufacturers; importers; distributors and retailers of irrigation equipment and services.

Gerry Smith is the Irrigation Australia Limited (IAL) representative on the ACLH management committee, as well as being the chair of IAL Southeast Regional Committee.  For the past twenty six years, Gerry has worked in the irrigation industry in various roles including installing, warehousing, sales, import & export, manufacturing, system design and technical product support.

Landscape Queensland is the peak industry body representing landscape and garden maintenance contractors, specifiers and suppliers to the landscape industry throughout Queensland. With a focus on improving the professionalism and success of industry participants, Landscape Queensland actively promotes education and industry best practice through its industry accreditation and certification programs. With landscape being the window to the Lifestyle Horticulture industry, Landscape Queensland is committed to promoting the environmental, economic, health and social benefits of landscaping throughout the state.

The landscape industry representative Mark Sorby joined the ACLh management committee in late 2009 after becoming the Chief Executive Officer for Landscape Queensland.  Mark bring to ACLH a strong history of sales management and business development including 10 years at the Housing Industry Association (HIA).  Holding qualifications in business and business management, Mark believes Lifestyle Horticulture has huge potential for growth providing ongoing benefits for all Lifestyle Horticulture industry sectors.

Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland is the peak representative body for the nursery and garden industry in Queeensland and represents growers and producers, wholesalers, retailers, garden centres and allied trade suppliers.

The ACLH representative from NGIQ is Donald Scotts who has had a long involvement with the Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland including a period as Secretary to FAQI and Chairperson of ACLH.  Donald holds an MBA in Association Management, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Australian Institute of Management.  Donald is a passionate supporter of industry associations and believes that ACLH as an umbrella organization can play a significant role in helping enhance the benefits of the various member associations.

The purpose of the Queensland Arboricultural Association inc (QAA) is to preserve, protect, maintain and enhance the environmental, aesthetic and recreational value of trees and to promote and enhance Arboricultural practices and management within Queensland.

Turf Queensland (originally the Queensland Turf Producers Association – QTPA) commenced in March 2001 and believed it was timely to develop a Strategic Development Plan (2003/2006) to support, in a sustainable and professional manner, the next three-year growth of the industry in this state.  As is the case with all association the development of member benefits was paramount and addressing the various issues identified by members through the inclusive research of the Strategic Plan has provided considerable direction for the executive of Turf Queensland.

The ACLH representative from Turf Queensland is Jim Vaughan.  Jim is also currently chair of ACLH.  Jim has been a member of the ACLH Management Committee since its inception.  Jim was a member of the original Nursery Industry Development Council and the Lifestyle Horticulture Industry Development Council since 1996 prior to the development of ACLH in 2005. He is the Chief Executive Officer of both Landscaping Australia Inc and Turf Queensland.

Jim believes strongly in the Lifestyle Horticulture ‘supply and demand chain’ and its huge effect on the GDP of Queensland.  For this reason he has committed his time, energy and expertise to forwarding the objectives for the Australian Centre for Lifestyle Horticulture in Queensland.

The Sports Turf Association has been developed to provide a network of greenkeepers who are involved in managing  sports turf facilities in Queensland.  The association provides education and training opportunities and enhances the professionalism of greenkeepers within the state.

The Queensland Council of Garden Clubs Inc was established in April 1967 and now has 115 member garden clubs, plant societies and other related groups from Cairns to Tweed Heads. 

The ACLH representative from QCGC is Noel Prior.
