Horticultural Media Association Queensland

HMAQ formed in 1995 and now encompasses gardening media professionals from all over Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Members meet monthly to discuss topics of relevance to the horticultural media profession and to be informed by a variety of guest speakers representing the horticultural industry. Regular training is provided at these sessions to keep members up-to-date with the latest skills and information and required in our profession.

Queensland Council of Garden Clubs

The QCGC was established in 1967 and has 115 member garden clubs and plant societies from Cairns to Tweed Heads. The clubs offer their members regular meetings, with guest speakers giving information on a wide range of horticultural topics, plant sales, competition/exhibition tables, bus trips and other garden related activities.

Australian Horticultural Therapy Association - Queensland Branch

Horticultural Therapy is the process of using plants or the natural world in therapy, rehabilitation or learning situations. The client is actively involved in gardening tasks or activities deliberately designed to improve funciton, performance capacity and the ability to cope with life. 

The Horticultural Therapy Association of Qld aims to educate the public about the benefits and practice of Horticultural Therapy and form networks for sharing of information, resouces and research about Horticultultural Therapy with the community of Horticultural Therapists and other organisations such as Community Gardens.

Parks & Leisure Australia

Parks and Leisure Australia provides a broad range of services to members of the parks and leisure industry. It is a national organisation which promotes co-ooperation and mutual assistance between persons and organisations associated with public parks, botanic gardens and open space environments; recreation and leisure facilities and services.
