What are Smart Gardens?
Smart gardens can be any style of garden, cottage, tropical, native but the owners of smart gardens all work on the Smart principles. They know what kind of soil they are working with and make sure they add plenty of organic matter every year to improve it.
They always use mulch over bare soil. They take into account their local climate and rainfall and choose a range of plants that are suitable and find alternative water by instaling rain tanks or using their household greywater.
Finally they know that if they put into practice all of the five smart principles they will transform their garden into a place they can be proud of and enjoy.
